My baby is going to school in August imma cry 😭😭😭 I used to think I’d be a homeschool mom but it is just not for us as of rn 🙂 #seankellybrickhandler #toddlermom #genzmom #relatablemom #mommoments
As a Gen Z mom, transitioning my baby from home to Montessori school has been a heartfelt journey filled with mixed emotions. Being the only Gen Z mom at the school, I often find myself reflecting on the unique challenges and joys this brings. Montessori education emphasizes independence, hands-on learning, and respect for a child's natural psychological development, which reassures me that my child will thrive in this environment. Initially, I was certain homeschooling would be our path, offering flexibility and close family bonding. However, after exploring the options, I realized that Montessori’s structured yet nurturing approach suits our current lifestyle better. It provides my child with early socialization opportunities and a chance to explore learning in a peer-supported setting, which feels invaluable. Watching my little one prepare for this new chapter, I experience a bittersweet mix of pride and nostalgia. It’s a milestone that marks growth and independence but also a poignant reminder of how fast time flies. Sharing these authentic mom moments has connected me with other parents who understand the bittersweet nature of sending kids to school for the first time. Navigating these feelings, I’ve found comfort in embracing change and focusing on the positive aspects of this transition. It’s empowering to support my child’s development while also carving out time for my own growth as a mother. If you’re a parent facing similar emotions about your child starting school, know that it’s okay to feel vulnerable and excited all at once—this journey is uniquely beautiful for every family.
