Don't let your Peroneus Longus get tight! Do this after any Ankle Injury!
When dealing with ankle injuries, incorporating balance board exercises can significantly enhance your rehab process. These exercises improve proprioception and ankle stability, which are crucial for preventing future sprains. Additionally, combining massage techniques using a tennis ball or massage ball under the foot with targeted stretching can help loosen not only the Peroneus Longus but also surrounding muscles and tendons. Consistency is key—doing 3 sets of 5-10 reps regularly fosters both flexibility and strength. Apart from stretching, consider light strengthening exercises such as resisted ankle eversion to support the Peroneus Longus muscle function. Pilates also offers dynamic stretching advantages that complement traditional static stretches, promoting better muscle control. Lastly, using sport taping around the ankle can provide extra support during movement, helping maintain proper alignment and reducing strain on the injured muscles while you heal. These combined approaches supported my recovery journey well, reducing tightness and pain while helping me regain full ankle function.
