He’s ashamed of my son

just ended things with my boyfriend of 4 years after a conversation that broke me. He told me he only pretends to be proud of my son (from a previous relationship) when talking to his friends because it’s the “polite” thing to do. He said only “cucks” are actually happy being with someone who already has a child, and that no one is ever truly proud to be in that situation.

Hearing that crushed me. My son is my whole world, and the fact that he could speak about him like that makes me feel sick. I wish I never let them meet. Now I’m scared — like, will anyone ever genuinely care about both me and my son?

For single moms out there… do your partners really embrace your child? And for step-parents, how do you truly feel about your stepkids? I just need to hear some real stories right now.

He's a lier, some of us, actually are happy to be apart of the step child's journey, and of the love between us that didn't have to be, I actually think it tastes sweeter.
