***HOME RECIPE***

NOT MY RECIPE! The original recipe is from Isabella's Kitchen on TIKTOK! I just followed the steps and got these beautiful sub rolls. They are soft and absolutely delicious! I just added my own toppings before baking. I made Philly cheesesteaks with mine and a side of homemade fries! They were absolutely DEVINE! If you guys would like a recipe for that, just let me know in the comments. 👇 What are some of your favorite sandwich recipes?

INGREDIENTS

500g = 4 cups AP flour

325ml WARM water

2tbsp sugar or honey (I like honey)

1 tbsp yeast (CAN BE INSTANT)

1tsp salt

3tbsp COLD unsalted butter (CAN use salted just exclude the salt in recipe above)

Instructions:

1.add yeast, warm water, and sugar all in your stand mixer and let it bloom for 5 minutes

2. Pour in half of your flour (250g=2c)

attach your dough hook and mix until combined, then add the rest of the flour mix until your dough is no longer sticking to the sides

3. Add your tsp of salt and mix for about 3 minutes,

cube your 3tbsp of COLD butter and add it to your dough,

mix until your butter is completely combined with your dough. Mine took about 5 minutes on setting 2.

4. Let your dough rise in a warm place for about an hour OR until doubled in size. (I always put mine in my oven with the light on.)

5. Remove your dough ball and place it on a clean lightly flour surface and cut 8 triangles

6. Flatten your triangles into rectangles and then roll it up from the long side (I hope that makes sense?)

7. Place your rolls onto your baking sheet and let them rise for another 45 minutes or until doubled in size

8. Brush the rolls with butter or egg wash (1 beaten egg with a tbsp water or milk) for a beautiful golden brown finish! I made a garlic butter and added Colby jack cheese and Rosemary on top. You can add whatever your little heart desires!

9.PREHEAT oven at 400° once preheated add ice in any oven safe pan and turn the oven down to 375°. Place your rolls in and bake for 22 minutes.

Additional tips/notes: Let me know if you give it a shot and tell me in the comments below how it went! Show me your pictures of your delicious rolls! 😊

... Read moreMaking homemade sub rolls is easier than you think! With just a few basic ingredients like all-purpose flour, warm water, yeast, and a touch of sugar or honey, you can create delicious, soft rolls perfect for any filling. Start by allowing the yeast to bloom in warm water, then mix in the flour to form a dough. Adding cold butter helps to enhance the flavor and texture of the rolls. Once your dough has risen, divide it into triangles and roll them up to create that classic sub shape. Let them rise again before baking them at the right temperature for a perfect golden finish. You can even brush them with butter or an egg wash for an extra shine! These rolls can be used for a variety of sandwiches or enjoyed on their own. Experiment with different toppings or fillings—imagine the satisfaction of biting into a Philly cheesesteak made with rolls you baked yourself. Let your creativity flow, and don't forget to share your results with friends and family!
