From my experience, structuring therapy days to limit sessions to four per day, and working only two days weekly, significantly improves my focus and energy management. Running a group practice requires juggling client care with administrative tasks like payroll and team meetings, which can often extend the workday beyond scheduled hours. Bringing mindfulness to my workflow helps me stay grounded during busy days. For example, keeping essentials like medication attached to my keys prevents last-minute forgetfulness, which is common in ADHD. Integrating trauma and somatic techniques into sessions provides deeper healing opportunities for clients while keeping my work diverse and engaging. Planning events like book tours and launches can be taxing but rewarding. The key is to communicate clearly with the team and dedicate specific times for these tasks outside therapy hours. Taking breaks, even informal ones with colleagues, helps maintain mental clarity and emotional support. For therapists or professionals navigating ADHD, I’ve found that embracing flexibility and creating habits tailored to your unique neurodivergence can enhance capacity. Prioritizing self-care, delegating business tasks when possible, and maintaining a structured yet adaptable schedule turn what might feel overwhelming into a sustainable lifestyle.
