ADHD often impacts working memory, making it difficult to hold onto information momentarily. One technique I've found extremely helpful is breaking down my list into smaller, manageable chunks and using digital reminders or voice notes on my phone. This makes it easier to bypass the frustration of forgetting. Another insight I've gained is the importance of evaluating whether certain trends, especially those that come with a high price tag, are genuinely beneficial or just momentary attractions. With ADHD, we sometimes get caught up in impulsive spending, trying products or trends that promise a quick fix. Taking time to research and reading reviews can help determine if something is really 'worth the $$$.' In addition, creating a routine around list-making and planning has been a game changer. For example, I allocate a specific time each day, preferably in the morning, to update my to-do list or shopping list. This consistency trains my brain to expect and prep for the task, reducing the likelihood of forgetting. Lastly, mindfulness and self-compassion play vital roles. Recognizing that forgetfulness is part of ADHD and not a personal failing helps reduce stress and opens the door for more productive coping strategies. Sharing tips and experiences with supportive communities also enhances motivation and offers practical advice to navigate daily life more smoothly.
