Mini Cinnamon Roll Recipe 🤎

Please please follow every step in order to get successful rolls . These rolls are delicate but let me tell you they’re absolutely delicious and worth the time . Once you make them everyone will be asking for more ! I’d rate this as a 6/10 for how difficult it is to make, as long as you take your time and you’re gentle with the dough you’ll be just fine ! 💛

DOUGH RECIPE / PREP

1) First melt 1 stick of butter and set aside until it somewhat cools . Then take 2C of WARM MILK (not hot this will kill your yeast it has to be warm to the touch) ADD 1/2 C SUGAR to your milk.

Then you’re going to add your melted butter , stir this then add 1 packet of ACTIVE DRY YEAST . Set this aside in a warm area for 10mins until the yeast is activated it will look foamy and bubbly (I usually put it back in the microwave since it was warm from melting the butter )

2) After your yeast is activated you’re going to add 4 C FLOUR and mix with a spatula . It’s going to look sticky , wet ,& slightly crumbly . You’re going to stir this until well combined . DO NOT WORRY IF IT IS STICKY . It is crucial for this dough to remain moist , adding too much flour or if it is dry in general your rolls will come out dense so keep this in mind . After it is all combined spray a bowl with a lid with non stick cooking spray or butter & put your dough inside . You’re going to place a tea towel , paper towel , or parchment paper on the dough then close the bowl with the lid this will keep the warmth inside so it properly rises .

AFTER set aside in a warm area for 1hr & 30 mins to proof or until it’s doubled in size . (I usually warm up some water for 1min in the microwave then I put the bowl of dough inside covered so it’s a warm and closed space )

FILLING RECIPE

3) while your mixture is rising lets start on the filling . Take 3/4 C LIGHT BROWN SUGAR , 1 1/2 STICKS OF SOFTENED UNSALTED BUTTER & 2 TBS OF CINNAMON . Mix this all together until it forms a paste and set aside .

AFTER DOUGH HAS RISEN

4) now that your dough has risen and doubled in size you’re going to punch the dough and knead it lightly so it releases all that air . Then add 1 C FLOUR , 1 TSP BAKING POWDER , 2 TSP SALT & knead until this is combined . After you’re going to knead your dough on a cold surface for about 10 mins . LESS FLOUR IS BETTER so if you’re using some flour for dusting try your best not to unless it’s extremely sticky . After you’ve kneaded it push the dough with your finger if it bounces back it is ready !

ASSEMBLE ROLLS

5) dust your surface with a little flour before you roll your dough , then roll it out until it is about 1 inch thick and spread your filling all over with a spatula . Be very gentle this dough is delicate . After grab a pizza slicer and cut your dough into long strips you’ll be cutting vertically . After make a small roll with one of the slices (about 4 inches in length & seal by pinching the end together & then cut it horizontally. ) you should be able to make about 3 rolls out of 1 long strip .

6) spray a cake pan or i found it easier to put them in a cupcake pan with non stick cooking spray and place them about 1 inch apart . After you’ve finished all your rolls you’re going to allow them to sit in a warm area covered for the last proofing for about 35 mins .

BAKE THEM ROLLS

7) once they’ve doubled in size you’re going to bake these at 350 for about 18-25 mins . You’ll known when these are done when they’re golden brown on the top . Enjoy with some cream cheese frosting (I used pillsbury canned frosting I was too lazy to make my own ) and ENJOY !

... Read moreMini cinnamon rolls are a delightful treat loved by many, and mastering their preparation requires attention to detail and proper technique. This recipe focuses on activating active dry yeast properly, ensuring the milk is warm but not hot to avoid killing the yeast, which is essential for the dough's rise and texture. A key tip for perfect cinnamon rolls is maintaining a moist dough; the recipe stresses that the dough will be naturally sticky and slightly crumbly, and adding too much flour can make the rolls dense and heavy. This balance between stickiness and firmness is crucial for achieving soft, fluffy rolls. The filling combines light brown sugar, softened unsalted butter, and cinnamon to create a sweet, aromatic paste that complements the delicate dough. Ensuring that the dough doubles in size during proofing is vital, as this indicates proper yeast activity and dough readiness for shaping. When assembling, gentle handling of the dough is recommended to preserve its delicate structure. Rolling out to about one inch thickness and cutting evenly sized strips allows for uniformly baked rolls. Using a cupcake pan for baking helps maintain shape and spacing, preventing rolls from merging during the second rise. Baking at 350°F for 18-25 minutes until golden brown ensures the rolls are cooked through with a perfect crust. While cream cheese frosting can be made from scratch, using a ready-made option like Pillsbury canned frosting is a convenient alternative. Additional methods to enhance the recipe include experimenting with variation in fillings, such as adding chopped nuts or raisins, or trying different frostings like caramel or vanilla glaze. This recipe matches current baking trends emphasizing easy-to-follow steps and minimal fuss for homemade bakery-quality results, making it an excellent choice for beginners and seasoned bakers alike. In summary, the secret to the best mini cinnamon rolls lies in precise temperature control, dough hydration, gentle handling, and patient proofing—all combined to produce irresistible rolls that will have everyone asking for more.
