What do you rate my skincare? Any and all thoughts and suggestions will be heard and appreciated ✨
i think its gotten a lot better since i finally noticed what works best. It may not be flashy and 10 steps that takes 2 hours to complete, but it works for my skin
For context.. my skin on my face is oily and flakey by my nose bridge, i have sensitive cheeks that inflame easily, hair thats oily as heck (even though its straighter than i am), and the rest of my body is generally normal, so my skincare has to be very particular.
What i use and why:
⭐️ Cerave Cleanser: its gentle on my skin compared to the Native cleanser and actually feels as if its cleaning my pores instead of drying them out.
⭐️ EOS shave cream: leaves my legs and arms so soft!!
⭐️ Garnier Fructis Pure Clean Shampoo: Leaves my hair soft and not so oily for at least day of and the following which is a win in my book. Plus it’s silicone free and has aloe vera extract to help soothe my scalp.

Read moreFinding the right skincare and haircare products for oily and sensitive skin can be quite challenging, especially when dealing with specific concerns like flakiness around the nose bridge and sensitivity on the cheeks. Based on my experience, simplicity combined with targeted ingredients brings the best results.
I also struggled with oily hair that quickly loses freshness, so I avoid heavy conditioners to prevent weighing down my strands. Using a silicone-free shampoo like Garnier Fructis Pure Clean, which contains soothing aloe vera extract, helps maintain scalp balance and keeps my hair feeling soft for longer. I highly recommend looking for such gentle yet effective shampoos if you have similar hair concerns.
Regarding cleansers, products developed with dermatologists and featuring key ingredients like niacinamide, ceramides, and hyaluronic acid, such as Cerave Cleanser, are game changers. They're gentle enough not to strip away moisture yet deeply clean clogged pores, which is vital for combination and sensitive skin types. Switching from harsher cleansers to such formulations helped reduce inflammation and dryness in my skin.
For shaving, I found that creams like EOS shave cream offer great hydration and leave the skin feeling smooth without irritation. This is especially important for sensitive skin, as prevention of redness and irritation improves overall skin comfort.
Ultimately, building a concise routine with multi-benefit products worked best for me. Overloading skin with multiple steps can sometimes cause more harm than good. Tailor your skincare and haircare based on your skin’s reaction and lifestyle needs. Remember, consistency and listening to your skin’s specific signals are key to maintaining a healthy, radiant complexion and balanced hair.
