Higher-value gems might elicit a slightly more surprised or overwhelmed reaction, but the core outcome remains similar: appreciation. However, the game's reputation system is truly complex. While a single gem might not drastically change your standing overnight, consistent acts of generosity, especially to those in dire need, can cumulatively affect how people perceive you in a given village or region. This can subtly influence dialogue options, shop prices, or even how guards react to minor infractions. It’s not a quick exploit for riches or fame, but rather a way to truly role-play Henry as a benevolent character. It deepens the immersion when you see how your small acts of kindness contribute to the living, breathing world around you. I've also noticed that the reaction can vary slightly depending on the specific NPC's disposition or current circumstances. Some might be more effusive, while others more reserved, perhaps even wary, depending on their background. It's less about the immediate transactional gain and more about contributing to the intricate social fabric of Bohemia. It truly highlights how KCD makes even small choices, like parting with a valuable gem, feel meaningful. It reminds me of how I carefully chose my armor and that 'tunic' to fit Henry’s evolving persona – every detail matters in this game.
