Easy recipes for lazy people pt 9: Cooked Oats with fried banana

Who says you cant have breakfast for lunch. If I only have a meal in a day, I would choose breakfast.

Saw someone on IG panfrying their bananas and adding to oats. What a genius idea. The panfried banana is so much sweeter than the raw version.

Over here, ingredients i used:

- Banana

- Oats

- Milk

- Sugar (can omit you wanna be extra healthy)

- Apple (optional, diced it and cook it together with my oats for extra crunch)

- Cinnamon powder, chia seeds and pistachio (optional, if feeling fancy)

Essentially you just need 3 ingredients haha. Give it a go and let me know if you liked this!

Eat well. Be well. 😋

... Read moreIf you're looking for a tasty breakfast that's both effortless and nutritious, cooked oats with fried banana might be your new favorite. One of the best things about this recipe is its flexibility—you really only need rolled oats, a banana, and some milk to whip up a creamy, satisfying bowl. The panfried banana adds a natural sweetness and caramelized flavor that elevates the dish without needing much added sugar, making it perfect for those aiming for a healthier diet. I like to add diced apple to the oats while cooking to introduce a delightful crunch and slight tartness, which contrasts nicely with the soft bananas. A sprinkle of cinnamon powder not only enhances flavor but also offers anti-inflammatory benefits, while chia seeds contribute extra fiber and omega-3 fatty acids. For a little indulgence, crushed pistachios add a delightful texture and a boost of healthy fats. Cooking rolled oats with milk rather than water makes the oats creamier and more filling. You can adjust the milk quantity depending on your desired consistency—less milk for thicker oats or more for a soupier texture. If you prefer plant-based options, almond or oat milk works just as well. What’s great is that this recipe suits any time of the day, not just breakfast. Many people enjoy it as a comforting lunch or even a light dinner. Since it’s packed with fiber and nutrients, it sustains you for hours. Also, it’s easy to prepare in batches and reheat, which saves time during busy mornings. Rolled oats are versatile, whole-grain, and slow-digesting carbs that help maintain steady energy and keep you full longer. Pairing them with banana—a potassium-rich fruit—makes for a heart-healthy combo. Panfrying the banana softens it and unlocks its natural sugars, making it taste sweeter without added sweeteners. This method is especially helpful if you have bananas that are overly ripe or bruised. Give this easy, comforting recipe a try and see how a few simple ingredients can transform into a wholesome meal. Whether you’re lazy or busy, this cooked oats with fried banana dish promises a delicious and nutritious start to your day. Feel free to experiment with toppings like nuts, seeds, or berries to suit your taste and mood!
