EP22: The Surprise That Went Wrong
"She" matched with this guy on a dating app and chatted for afew weeks and here goes her story:
At first, he seemed really attentive, asking what I like to eat, drink, even fruits and desserts. He said, “I must remember everything you like.”
I thought, wah, quite sweet ah.
Then he asked me out for a meal. I asked where.
He said, “It’s a surprise.”
Next thing I know, at 1pm, he brings me to a park.
No warning.
I was wearing long sleeves.
It was MAD hot.
Sis was completely unprepared
.
We sat on a park bench and he proudly took out a lunchbox, packed with the food himself. honestly, it was a vvv sweet gesture. Full respect for the effort.
But… maybe not the best food combination...
For context, he asked for my favourite foods and actually brought them.
ANDDD Unfortunately, my favourites that he asked for were melted chocolate, dragon fruit, and chicken wings. What a weird combination, I know. But I didn't mean in a combination!!
Now imagine this:
First date.
Hot weather.
At a park.
Being served red dragon fruit, melted chocolate, and chicken wings.
I was stressed. I was terrified of staining myself, and at the same time I felt bad because I didn’t want to disappoint his sincere effort.
I truly died that day.
He was genuinely a very nice and sweet guy, no doubt about that.
But the weather plus the food combo? 😩
Ever since then, I’ve been very careful whenever someone asks me,
“So… what’s your favourite food?”
