Why You Should Become A Surg Tech Student!

#storieswithfollowers

🩷Reason: My main reason for going to school for physical technology is that my mom actually went into septic shock back in 2022 and she was in a coma for about 2 weeks & yes she partially recovered, but has not walked in two going on three years. My mother is a breast cancer survivor, and one of the ports got infected in her chest causing my mom to sustain a SSI. So that is my big reason.

👍Why I like it: I love this because I explored several other avenues of the medical field but I have not latched onto any like this. I already feel like a tech. The material although vast is retainable & honestly just enjoyable truly learning the anatomy & think about the lives you’re going to save.

✨ Pros: Room for growth and advancement. As a tech you learn so much about other healthcare professionals that it inclines you to want to continue your education even after becoming certified. Traveling surgical techs for all my passport baes lol but seriously if you love to travel, enjoy fast pace & have the knack for being noticed, I’d look into that! Another pro is obtaining a degree alongside the certification.

👀 Cons: The possibilities of trauma you will see

🧹 Tips: Thick skin ! The ways of the OR begin in the classroom with your classmates, act accordingly! Also think of your specialty you’d like to go into, certain specialties make more money.

⭐️Overall rating: /10: 10/10

The ability to travel as a surgical tech allows for diverse experiences and the potential for higher earnings. This dynamic field also emphasizes continuing education, which can lead to specialized certifications and additional career progression. Potential surgical tech students should consider things like the importance of having a thick skin to deal with the fast-paced and often challenging environment. Exploring different specialties can lead to increased job satisfaction and potentially higher salaries. Engaging with a supportive learning community and staying updated with the latest medical trends can enhance both personal and professional growth. Ultimately, if you have a passion for the medical field and the desire to make a difference in people's lives, a career as a surgical technologist could be the perfect fit for you.
