here’s the truth about reading slumps

i sometimes find myself falling into patterns of forcing myself to pick up books. it’s hard to look around and see everyone else having AMAZING reading months and look at my forgotten and ever-growing TBR pile.

but reading is something i LOVE and something that brings me so much joy, and i don’t want to force myself to engage with a hobby if it’s not the right time.

i think if you lean into the slump and allow yourself to take a break, you’ll come back more enthusiastic than ever … when it’s the right time to start reading again!

Engaging with book communities online or partaking in reading challenges can also provide motivation without the pressure of numbers. Participating in book clubs allows you to share experiences with others who understand the highs and lows of reading. When you finally return to your reading, it's often with a newfound passion and appreciation, enhancing your overall experience. Don't forget to document your journey in a reading journal; it can help track your feelings and preferences, ultimately making your reading journey more enjoyable. Embrace the pause and let it guide you back to the magic of reading.
