Full Break: Removal + Reattachment
A full break needs a little different approach. 👀
Before I can even think about reinforcing this nail again, the old repair has to come OFF and both pieces need to be completely clean.
Same rule as always: patience over force. Remove what’s ready, rewrap what isn’t, clean everything thoroughly, then reattach with precision.
Once she’s secure again, THEN we can move on to rebuilding her with fiberglass. 💅🏽
Next up: fiberglass tips. 😬

Having experienced full nail breaks myself, I understand how frustrating they can be. One key thing I’ve learned is the importance of patience and gentle handling during the removal and reattachment process. Forcing off an old repair often causes more damage, so waiting until parts are ready to come off naturally is vital. Cleaning both the broken nail pieces thoroughly before reattaching ensures a stronger bond and reduces the chance of infection or lifting. When rewrapping sections that aren’t ready to be removed yet, secure them carefully without excessive pressure, which can cause discomfort or further damage. Using quality adhesives designed for nail repair also makes a difference, as they provide flexible support and hold well under daily stresses. After securing the nail properly, moving on to reinforcing it with fiberglass is a game-changer. Fiberglass offers a natural look and robust strength, ideal when rebuilding nails after a full break. In my experience, fiberglass tips last longer and help maintain healthy nail growth compared to other materials. Remember, consistent nail care habits like moisturizing the cuticles and avoiding excessive water or harsh chemicals aid the healing process. Following this patient, step-by-step method will not only restore the nail but also improve its natural durability for the future.
