Study during golden hours

United States
2024/2/23 Edited to

... Read moreHey everyone! I've been getting so many questions about my 'golden hour study' routine, and I absolutely love sharing my tips! There’s just something magical about studying during the golden hour, whether it’s those beautiful early morning rays or the soft, warm glow of late afternoon. It's not just about the aesthetic; I genuinely believe it boosts my focus and productivity. First off, what even is golden hour study for me? It's carving out a dedicated study block when the natural light is at its most beautiful. This usually means either right after sunrise or an hour or two before sunset. I find that this specific time of day helps me feel more calm and centered, which is perfect for tackling complex subjects or deep work. The natural light reduces eye strain compared to harsh artificial lights, and there’s often a quietness during these times that minimizes distractions. To really nail that 'golden hour coffee aesthetic' that you might have seen, I have a little ritual. My favorite part is brewing a fresh cup of coffee or tea. I use my favorite mug, often something ceramic that feels good in my hands. The aroma itself is so comforting and signals to my brain that it's time to get down to business. I also make sure my study space is clean and tidy. A decluttered desk equals a decluttered mind, right? I position myself near a window to fully soak in that beautiful light. Sometimes, I’ll light a subtle candle or play some lofi beats in the background to set the mood even further. When I study during the golden hour, I focus on my most challenging tasks. I follow a loose Pomodoro technique, doing 25-minute sprints of focused work followed by short breaks. During these breaks, I might just look out the window, sip my coffee, or do a quick stretch. It helps prevent burnout and keeps my mind fresh. I also keep a small plant on my desk – studies show greenery can boost concentration! It's not always perfect, of course. Some days, the weather isn't cooperating, or my schedule is just too packed. But even on those days, I try to recreate the 'vibe' as much as possible. Maybe it means using a warm-toned lamp or just taking a moment to appreciate the quiet before I dive into my books. The key is consistency and creating a routine that feels good and works for *you*. I hope these insights help you embrace the beauty and productivity of studying during the golden hour! It truly has transformed my study sessions and made them something I actually look forward to. Give it a try, and let me know how it goes for you!
