Ingredients
- 20 oz pasta (rigatoni, penne, or your favorite)
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- ½ white onion, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 (28 oz) can whole peeled tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Freshly grated Parmesan, for serving
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
2. Stir in garlic, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
3. Blend the canned tomatoes until smooth and pour into the pan. Stir well and bring to a gentle simmer.
4. Let the sauce cook for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add heavy cream and mix until smooth and creamy. Reduce heat to low.
5. Meanwhile, bring a large pot of heavily salted water to a boil. Cook pasta to your desired texture and drain.
6. Add pasta to a mixing bowl and toss with enough sauce to coat every piece without drenching it.
7. Plate, then finish with freshly grated Parmesan and chopped parsley.
