Macronutrients such as nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), calcium (Ca), and sulfur (S) form the foundation of healthy plant development. Nitrogen is crucial for leaf growth and chlorophyll production, giving plants their green vibrant color. Phosphorus supports root development and flowering, while potassium enhances disease resistance and overall plant metabolism. Beyond these primary nutrients, micronutrients like iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), zinc (Zn), copper (Cu), boron (B), and molybdenum (Mo) play essential roles even though they are needed in smaller amounts. For example, iron is vital for chlorophyll synthesis and enzyme functions, manganese supports nitrogen synthesis and reproductive growth, and zinc aids in enzyme activation and cell wall formation.
