... Read moreSo, you've seen my April TBR (To Be Read) stack, and if you're anything like me, building a new list of books for the month is one of the most exciting parts of being a reader! It’s like curating your own little adventure for the coming weeks. I always aim for a mix of genres, but I confess, I'm a sucker for a good romance, a gripping drama, and anything with a shocking plot twist. When people ask me for book recommendations, especially for novels to read or good romance books for adults, I often point them towards stories that truly immerse you. For example, some of the titles I'm eyeing this month, like Bolu Babalola's Honey & Spice or Carley Fortune's *Every Summer After*, are perfect examples of contemporary romance that offers both heart and depth. They're the kind of books that make you feel all the feels and keep you turning pages late into the night. If you're looking for something with a bit more profound emotional weight, a novel like Hanya Yanagihara’s A Little Life is often recommended, though it's certainly a more challenging read. I also love exploring popular fiction books right now that deliver on drama and suspense. Books like Jeneva Rose's The Perfect Marriage promise those addictive plot twists that keep you guessing. It's exhilarating to dive into a story where you're constantly trying to figure out what's going to happen next. And for those who appreciate a rich, expansive narrative, literary fiction books can be incredibly rewarding. Stories that build entire worlds or delve deep into character psychology really stick with you long after you've finished the last page. Another fantastic pick for expansive world-building is *Children of Blood and Bone*, which really grabs you from the first page. Finding the best books to read, whether they're trending books or hidden gems, often comes down to knowing what you're in the mood for. Do you want something light and fun, like a sweet romance that transports you to a new setting, perhaps 'One Summer in Savannah' by Terah Shelton Harris? Or are you craving a fantasy epic that sweeps you away? My advice is always to read reviews, check out similar authors you've enjoyed, and don't be afraid to pick up a book based on a recommendation from a friend or fellow reader. Sometimes, the most famous books to read are famous for a reason, but sometimes your next favorite is one you've never heard of. My goal each month is to find books that aren't just good reads, but truly great books to read – ones that leave an impression. So, if you're currently building your own list of best English novels to read, or just searching for some good books to read for adults, I hope my picks give you some inspiration. What are some of the addictive book series or standalone novels you've read recently that you can't stop thinking about? I'm always on the lookout for more!
