🍗 Hidden Gem Korean Fried Chicken in NJ 🙌

🍂 As the weather cools down, all I crave is comfort food — especially fried chicken. Personally, I’ll pick Korean fried chicken over American any day 🙌.

Ten years ago, I bought a box of Korea’s best-selling fried chicken in Seoul and could never forget that taste 🐔. Finally, I found almost the exact same flavor right here in Fort Lee’s Koreatown — at a cozy little spot run by a sweet Korean mom 👽 Mama Chicken.

🍺 The place is small, simple, and welcoming — home-style vibes with amazing service.

💰 Super affordable: 8pc wings (any flavor) for under $10! Two of us ordered a feast, couldn’t even finish, packed the leftovers, and it was only $32 (before tax/tip).

🍖 The wings were incredible! I had spicy soy garlic — saucy, flavorful, and the perfect kick of heat without being overwhelming. Highly recommend 👍.

👉 If you prefer dry wings, go for original or crispy — that’s what you see in pic #1 .

🔥 One of their signature dishes is Rose Chicken — fried boneless tenders with fries + cheese sauce. Super indulgent, creamy, slightly tangy like tomato — delicious but heavy, best for sharing with friends.

🍚 I still have my eye on their kimchi fried rice for next time (was way too full 😅).

All in all, this is 100% a hidden gem Korean fried chicken spot. 5/5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟.

... Read moreAfter my first incredible visit to Mama Chicken in Fort Lee, I just had to share more about this absolute hidden treasure! While the original post touched on the highlights, there's so much more to love and discover about this authentic Korean fried chicken spot that truly feels like a piece of Seoul right here in New Jersey. What immediately struck me, beyond the inviting aroma, was the genuine warmth of the place. It's not just the cozy, home-style decor; it's the personal touch from the owner, the “sweet Korean mom” everyone talks about. Her passion for bringing authentic Korean flavors to Fort Lee shines through in every crispy bite. I recall seeing the receipt from my visit, and even with a full spread, the value truly stood out. A “Comfort Food Season” feast for just two of us, including leftovers, felt like such a steal! Let's dive deeper into the menu. While I raved about the spicy soy garlic wings, which are a non-negotiable for any first-timer, there are other gems. If you prefer a drier, classic fried chicken, their original or crispy options are fantastic. I've heard amazing things about the crispy chicken with scallions, often served with a delicious white sauce that adds another layer of flavor. And don't even get me started on the Rose Chicken—those boneless tenders with french fries and creamy, tangy cheese sauce are pure indulgence, perfect for sharing. It's definitely a dish that brings friends together, especially after a long week. Beyond the star of the show, Mama Chicken truly excels with its sides. The pickled radish is a must-have palate cleanser with any fried chicken order—it's that perfect tangy crunch. I also loved their fresh coleslaw, a refreshing contrast to the rich chicken. And for those looking for more Korean street food delights, keep an eye out for their tteokbokki; it's the ultimate comfort food pairing. For my next visit, the kimchi fried rice is at the top of my list. I was simply too full to try it last time, but I've seen it fly out of the kitchen, and it looks absolutely incredible – a perfect savory complement to the fried chicken. A little tip for visiting: Since it’s a smaller, popular spot, consider going during off-peak hours if you want to avoid a wait, especially on weekends. Parking in Fort Lee can sometimes be a challenge, so factor that into your plans, but trust me, it's worth the effort. Whether you're dining in for that authentic, welcoming atmosphere or grabbing some spicy soy wings for takeout, Mama Chicken delivers an experience that satisfies both your taste buds and your soul. It’s more than just a meal; it’s a taste of Korea, lovingly prepared, and served with a smile. If you're anywhere near Fort Lee, you owe it to yourself to experience this culinary delight!
