How long does your baby sleep at night?

Im SO tired of reading about babies sleeping long 7+ hours at night. My 3 month old has only once made it to 3.5 hours. But normally she still wakes up 1.5-2 hours. The past week we’re back to cluster feeding every 1-2 hours both day and night. During day time she normally feeds 2-2.5 hours.

Is it a breastfed babies thing? I’m so so tired still and going back to work next month.

She’s also starting to show signs of rolling so will transfer to crib soon which will make night feeds even more difficult (I have so much trouble getting her in and out of the crib) Am I missing something? Why is everyone else’s babies sleeping so much more?? I’m still just surviving here and I get so angry about how other people are getting more sleep.

... Read moreSleep is a crucial aspect of infant development, and it's normal for newborns to wake frequently during the night. Many parents have similar experiences with their babies, especially those who are breastfed. Research shows that breastfed infants may wake more often due to different metabolic needs compared to formula-fed babies, which can lead to sleep challenges for mothers. If your baby is cluster feeding or waking every 1-2 hours, you’re not alone. Many parents find that babies begin to consolidate sleep as they approach 4-6 months of age. During this period, babies may start to develop a more regular sleep pattern, allowing for longer stretches of sleep at night. It's also important to create a conducive sleep environment. Darkness, a comfortable temperature, and a consistent nighttime routine can help signal to your baby that it’s time to sleep. Additionally, establishing a calming pre-sleep routine may assist in soothing your baby. If your baby is nearing milestones such as rolling over, they may experience temporary disruptions in sleep patterns. This is a normal part of development and should resolve itself with time. If you have concerns, consulting with a pediatrician can provide tailored advice and reassurance, ensuring both you and your baby are supported through this sleep journey.
