Postpartum Weightloss

I have always struggled with my weight and coming into this pregnancy it frustrated me knowing that I was overweight already. By the end of my pregnancy, I gained about 40lbs. I was surprised at how fast that weight fell off postpartum. I had lost about 30lbs the first month. But my body composition was completely different. I had lost a lot of muscle throughout my pregnancy and gained a lot more fat. Even when I got back to my original weight, nothing fit!

Postpartum can be so frustrating especially since I've always struggled with weight. But Im learning that loving myself in every stage of this journey is a must. My goal is to lose atleast another 40 lbs this year.

Have you met your weightloss goals? What tips do you have for anyone on a Weightloss journey?

... Read moreAfter pregnancy, many women face unique challenges in their weight loss journey, often influenced by hormonal changes, lifestyle adaptations, and emotional factors. Understanding your body post-pregnancy is essential for effective weight loss. Develop a balanced diet plan that accounts for both calorie deficit and nutritional needs, focusing on whole foods while avoiding restrictive diets that could affect milk supply if breastfeeding. Incorporate moderate exercise into your routine, such as walking or gentle yoga, which can significantly aid postpartum recovery. Setting realistic fitness goals, like aiming to lose 1-2 pounds per week, can keep you motivated without overwhelming your body. Additionally, consider joining support groups or online communities where you can share experiences and gather tips. Remember, every mother's journey is unique, and self-love throughout this season of change is crucial for long-term success. Lastly, discussing weight loss goals with healthcare professionals can provide personalized guidance tailored to your health conditions. Whether you're just starting or well into your postpartum journey, it's important to know you're not alone, and there are resources available to help you succeed.

I was 215 pre-pregnancy and I lost a ton of weight in the first trimester because of morning sickness 🤢 I don’t remember what I weighed when I was pregnant but I’m at 200 now, PP. Wanting to get back down to 125, slowly but surely!
