When did you start solids?

We started solids pretty early. Braylon started hitting a bunch of milestones that led us to trying solids. At 4 months, he had good head/neck control, could sit in his chair unassisted and seemed interested in the food we were eating. The puddles of drool while watching us eat made me realize it was a good time to start trying. Of course we talked to his pediatrician about it first. Now I can't eat anything without him wanting a bite! He's not even 6 months yet and greedy as ever 😂

Braylon's dinner was steamed zucchini blended in his baby bullet with a small bit of his formula for a thinner consistency.

... Read moreIntroducing solid foods to your baby is an exciting milestone in their development. Most parents begin this journey around 4 to 6 months when the baby shows interest in food and has developed enough head and neck control. It's essential to consult with your pediatrician before starting. Popular first foods include blended vegetables like zucchini, pureed fruits, and iron-fortified cereals. When preparing food, consider using a baby bullet or food processor for proper consistency. Pay attention to your baby's reactions and adjust the diet accordingly. Signs of readiness include watching you eat, reaching for food, and sitting up with minimal support. Always ensure that you introduce one food at a time to monitor for allergies and provide a variety of flavors and textures as your baby grows. This approach not only helps in developing their taste but also aids in healthy eating habits later in life. Share your experiences with other parents in the community and exchange meal ideas! Let's make feeding time a fun and interactive journey for both you and your little one.
