I graduated college last month!!!

Omg, yall! I graduated last month and honestly I’ve been acting like it’s no big deal around family and my friend because it’s kinda not received well when I’m doing something good. In reality though, I’m super excited and proud of what I did. I’m a mother to SEVEN children and I was pregnant with my last child and working during my last semester. I honestly don’t know I did it 😂. #graduated college

... Read moreWow, reading that, I totally get it! Finishing college, especially in that intense last month of college, is a monumental achievement for anyone. But doing it while pregnant, working, and being a dedicated mom? That's next-level superhero stuff. I often felt like I had to downplay my own struggles and triumphs to others, but seriously, what an incredible feat! My journey, similar to this, navigating my Health Science degree at South College in Atlanta, felt like a constant juggle, especially as the due date approached. For anyone out there wondering how to manage graduating while pregnant, here's what I learned and what helped me through those challenging final semesters. First and foremost, build your village. Don't be afraid to lean on your partner, family, and close friends for support, whether it's childcare, meal prep, or just a listening ear. I had to learn to ask for help, something I wasn't always good at. Professors and academic advisors can also be incredibly understanding if you communicate your situation early. My advisor at South College was a lifesaver, helping me adjust my schedule when I needed it most. Time management became my superpower. Seriously, invest in a good planner or use digital tools. Map out your study times, class schedules, work shifts, and appointments, making sure to factor in rest. Pregnancy fatigue is no joke, especially in the later stages. I learned to be realistic about what I could achieve each day and to celebrate the small wins, like finishing one chapter or submitting an assignment on time. The last month of college is packed with final papers and exams, and having a clear plan helped me stay afloat. Prioritizing your health (and your baby's!) is non-negotiable. This means regular doctor appointments, eating well, and getting as much rest as possible, even when your body feels like it's running on fumes. Don't push yourself too hard. If you need a nap, take it. If you need to skip a non-essential social event, do it. Your academic success and well-being are paramount. I found that short, frequent study sessions were more effective than trying to pull all-nighters. Finally, give yourself grace and acknowledge your incredible strength. There will be days when you feel overwhelmed, exhausted, and doubt yourself. It's okay to feel that way. Remind yourself why you started and what an amazing example you're setting. When I walked across that stage, receiving my diploma, all those sleepless nights and moments of despair faded away, replaced by an overwhelming sense of pride. It wasn't just about the degree; it was about proving to myself, and my children, that anything is possible. Seeing the words "Class of" on my regalia felt intensely personal and hard-won. This journey transforms you, making you stronger and more resilient than you ever thought possible. You are absolutely ALWAY STAY GRACIOUS BEST, and worthy of every bit of joy and success that comes your way!

It IS a big deal, it an awesome achievement 👌🏾 Congratulations! 🍾 🥂 🎊 👏🏽 💐 🥳 Celebrate yourself you don't need permission from anyone else. Those who don't support you are low key and sometimes blatantly jealous. Next chapter loading........KEEP GOING!
