Faith of a mustard seed. ✨
28 is teaching me that sometimes God doesn’t immediately remove you from Babylon—sometimes He teaches you how to build, plant, heal, and LIVE while you’re there. 🩷🌱 I’m done postponing my life until everything feels perfect. I can grieve and still dream. Hurt and still heal. Be uncertain and sti

As a teacher of young Black minds, this pisses me off in a way I can’t ignore. I look at my students every day and see brilliance, potential, softness, humor, dreams, and whole futures. They deserve to grow up in a world where their lives are protected, their stories are believed, and their familie

28 today. 🥹💗 And I’m not celebrating from a place of “everything worked out perfectly.” I’m celebrating because I made it through what was supposed to break me. I’m entering this Saturn Return season with a whole different kind of gratitude. I’m thankful for the painful lessons, the closed doors

Weekly Bible Study
A week of Bible study for the heart I’m trying to protect, heal, and strengthen. 🤍📖 This week I’m focusing on trusting God with tomorrow, receiving grace for a new year of life, believing His plan is greater, giving my worries back to Him, walking by faith, practicing gratitude, and learning how

Story time 🤍
Heartbreak has taught me that loving somebody and being able to keep giving them access to you are two completely different things. For a long time, I thought healing meant getting to a place where I didn’t care anymore. But I’m learning that sometimes healing looks like still caring, still grie

Grief 🌸
Grief has been one of the hardest things I’ve had to carry, and one thing I’m learning is that the Bible does not tell us to pretend we’re okay. It shows us a God who is near to the brokenhearted, who allows us to pour out our hearts, and who understands tears. Grief is not weakness. It is human

Saturn Return
Story time 🌙✨ So apparently I’m entering my Saturn return era… and I didn’t even know what that meant until my friend brought it up. 😂 I looked it up and found out that your Saturn return usually happens somewhere around your late 20s, and in astrology it’s supposed to be this season of growi

Birthday Testimony
I’m turning 28 with a testimony. 🤍 I’m grieving and healing at the same time. I’m grieving people, expectations, old versions of myself, and some of the things I truly thought my life would look like by now. Some days it still hurts. Some things I’m still learning how to release. But somehow,

I’m in a real guard your heart season. Learning that boundaries with people can still be loving. I don’t have to overexplain, overgive, rescue everyone, or ignore patterns just because I care. Grief does not mean the boundary is wrong — sometimes distance is protection, wisdom, and self-respect.

Boundaries 🌸
Teaching has taught me that having boundaries does not make me a bad teacher — it helps me be a better one. I can care deeply about my students and still honor my contract hours, protect my lunch, say no professionally, and stop carrying work that was never mine to hold. This school year, I’m ch

Back in motion 🍋
I struggle with this all the time. I’m human. I procrastinate. I lose momentum. I let myself down sometimes. But I’ve learned that self-love isn’t pretending you never fall—it’s choosing to give yourself grace when you do. Healing isn’t about being perfect. It’s about getting back up, forgivi

Back-to-school season can feel overwhelming, but a little preparation goes a long way. 💗 Every year I remind myself that students don’t need a perfect teacher—they need a prepared, consistent, and caring one. Focus on your systems, build relationships first, and give yourself grace as you settle

Novice Teacher 🌸
Your first year of teaching will challenge you in ways college never prepared you for. 🤍 I started teaching at 21, and I quickly realized that great teaching isn’t about having the perfect lesson—it’s about building relationships, staying consistent, and giving yourself grace while you learn.

Teacher Tips 🍋
I’ve been teaching since I was 21, and one thing I’ve learned is that teaching is the easy part… navigating institutions as a young Black woman is where the real lessons begin. I’ve had to learn how to advocate for myself, set boundaries, accept feedback without losing my voice, and keep showing

🌸 The Kept Promise Project 🌸 I’m coining something that has changed the way I look at healing. The Kept Promise Project is the practice of falling in love with yourself one kept promise at a time. Not through perfection. Not through overnight transformations. Not through becoming someone

💗 There was a time when I thought if I prayed hard enough, life would become easy. It didn’t. I still experienced rejection. I still lost things I loved. I still questioned myself. I still had to start over. I still had days where I didn’t know how I was going to make it. But k

Being Underestimated 🍋
💗 I’ve always joked that I’m a real-life Elle Woods… But not because everything worked out perfectly. Because I kept refusing to let people tell me who I could become. People underestimated me because of my age. Because of my personality. Because I was optimistic. Because I dreame

Budgeting 🍋
💗 There was a season when checking my bank account gave me anxiety. I thought budgeting was something you did after you became successful. I was wrong. Some of the hardest seasons of my life taught me the value of every dollar. I’ve been broke. I’ve had to stretch groceries. I’ve

Exodus 14:14 ✨
💗 This one is probably the hardest lesson I’ve had to learn. People love motivation because it feels good. Discipline is different. Discipline gets up when you’re depressed. Discipline applies for the job after another rejection. Discipline goes to therapy even when healing is exhaus

Take Peace ✌🏾
💗 Living alone taught me something I never expected… Peace isn’t something you find. It’s something you build. When I first started living alone, I thought the silence would be lonely. Instead, it became the place where I finally started meeting myself. It hasn’t always been easy.
