stop being hard on yourself

3/2 Edited to

... Read moreFrom my own experience, the hardest part about overcoming self-criticism is realizing that being hard on yourself actually dims your inner spark instead of motivating you. When I used to constantly judge myself for mistakes or setbacks, I never felt truly productive or happy. The more I pushed myself harshly, the more drained and discouraged I became — almost as if my mind was shutting down. What helped me was remembering that everyone wakes up each day for a reason, and part of that reason is to nurture the plan life has for you. I found it essential to stop the cycle of negativity by intentionally practicing kindness toward myself. This kindness isn’t a weakness; it’s a powerful strength that builds resilience and fosters genuine growth. Also, I realized I wasn’t alone. Surrounding myself with people who truly care—those who challenge me but love me unconditionally—made a huge difference. Such relationships encourage accountability without judgment and remind you that your value is not just in what you can give but in who you are. If you feel like you're begging for validation in unhealthy ways, remember you deserve to be celebrated, not merely tolerated. It’s important to disengage from environments that drain you and to seek communities and friends who empower and uplift you. Finally, opening up about struggles instead of suffering in silence can lighten your emotional burden. Sharing your vulnerabilities allows others to support and remind you that you are stronger than the hardships you face. Keep pushing forward, be kind to yourself, and trust that you have what it takes—you got this.
