I had #bariatricsurgery on 10/31 and spent 15 days in the hospital, but being home to see my daughter “read” stories to her brother is the absolute best feeling. Piedmont Atlanta ⭐️ Rating: 5 out of 5

The recovery process can be both physically and emotionally challenging, but also rewarding. One major aspect is the emotional support from family and friends, which plays a crucial role in recovery. Being home allows for positive interactions and experiences, such as reading stories with loved ones, which can enhance the healing process. In addition to emotional support, physical recovery is typically monitored through follow-ups with healthcare providers. These check-ups ensure that patients are healing properly and adjusting to their new dietary needs. It is common to focus on nutrition after surgery, incorporating healthy foods that aid weight loss while maintaining energy levels. Furthermore, engaging in light physical activity is often encouraged to promote overall wellness and resilience. Understanding the journey of recovery is essential for anyone considering or undergoing bariatric surgery. Joining supportive communities online or in-person can provide valuable insights, encouragement, and shared experiences. The hashtag #bariatricsurgery is a great tool for connecting with other patients, offering a platform to share recovery stories, tips, and resources.

Almost 2 week Post-op
Almost two weeks post-op, and what was supposed to be an RNY revision, hiatal hernia repair, and candy cane syndrome fix turned into a full gastric bypass! No hernia was found, but they did an intestinal repair and fixed the candy cane syndrome—and here I am, feeling better and stronger every day.
