Cortisol is the body’s primary stress hormone. When it’s out of control, it keeps you stuck in “fight or flight,” leaving your body overwhelmed and out of sync. High cortisol pumps excess glucose into your bloodstream, which leads to weight gain, exhaustion, and so much more.

Here are 5 signs your cortisol may be too high:

Nutrition also plays a big role; avoid excessive sugar and processed foods, and focus on a balanced diet rich in whole foods. Some find relief through natural supplements that promote hormone balance and cortisol control, although it's important to consult with a healthcare provider before starting any regimen.
