If you’re puffy, exhausted, & gaining weight 👇🏼

A while back I realized I was doing all the “right” things and still feeling puffy, exhausted, stressed, and stuck at the exact same weight.

Nothing felt easy. My clothes felt tight. My energy was all over the place. My body felt like it was working against me.

So I went back to the basics and focused on habits that support hormones, regulate cortisol, and bring your metabolism out of survival mode. When I simplified and got consistent, everything finally started to shift.

Here are the 6 habits that made the biggest difference for me.

1. Protein first at every meal

It keeps you full, balances blood sugar, supports hormones, and helps manage cravings so you are not fighting hunger all day.

2. Walking every single day

Low stress movement supports cortisol, digestion, inflammation, and fat loss. It is one of the most underrated tools for women.

3. Eating enough food instead of under eating

My body was in stress mode for so long. Once I started fueling properly, my energy improved and the inflammation started to calm down.

4. Reducing added sugars and refined carbs

Stabilizing blood sugar helped my mood, my cravings, and my energy. Everything felt easier.

5. Improving my sleep routine

Better sleep helped my metabolism and stress levels more than I realized.

6. Supporting my cortisol in the morning

I stopped spiking my stress first thing. I swapped my coffee for my morning drink that supports cortisol and steady energy. This one changed everything for me.

These habits worked because they made my body feel safe again. When your hormones and stress response calm down, your body can finally show you progress.

If this feels like your story, you are not alone. So many women are doing all the right things and still feel stuck. You just need habits that actually work with your hormones.

Comment cortisol or a ❤️ if you want the routine I started with and make sure you follow @TheCortisolCode for daily habits that help you feel like yourself again.

... Read moreAs someone who also struggled with feeling puffy, exhausted, and unable to lose weight despite trying various diets and workouts, I found that focusing on hormone balance was a game changer. In your 20s, you might get away with less thoughtful habits, but by your 30s, your hormones definitely keep score, reflecting your lifestyle choices more clearly. One major breakthrough for me was prioritizing protein first at every meal. It’s amazing how much this simple change stabilizes blood sugar and curbs cravings, so you’re not caught in the endless cycle of snacking or hunger pangs. Another underestimated habit is walking daily. A gentle, low-impact movement like walking doesn’t just burn calories—it also lowers cortisol, improves digestion, and eases inflammation, which are crucial for hormonal health. Eating enough food instead of under-eating was counterintuitive but vital. When your body is starved, it goes into survival mode, slowing metabolism and increasing stress hormones. Once I committed to balanced portions, my energy improved dramatically and inflammation symptoms diminished. I also cut back on added sugars and refined carbs, which helped me stabilize my mood and energy levels throughout the day without wild spikes or crashes. Improving my sleep routine was another cornerstone. Quality sleep boosts metabolic rate and helps the body repair hormone imbalances. Lastly, I swapped my morning coffee for a cortisol-supporting drink, which helped avoid the early stress spike and sustained my energy steadily. This habit alone changed my mornings and overall stress response. If you feel stuck despite doing your best, try integrating these habits gradually. They helped me feel safe in my body again, enabling real progress in weight and energy. Remember, your body’s stress response is at the root of many frustrating symptoms, and calming that response unlocks the door to feeling like yourself again.

Why You’re Bloated (Not Gaining Fat)
Stomach bloated? Feeling puffy? Clothes tighter at night? Before assuming weight gain, check this: Low fiber → slow digestion + stomach distention Hormones → luteal phase = water retention Sodium imbalance → fluid shifts, not fat gain Poor protein timing → blood sugar swings + digest
