From my journey, I’ve learned that managing cortisol requires patience and a holistic approach. One practical step that helped me was establishing a consistent sleep schedule and creating a relaxing bedtime routine, which significantly reduced my waking up during the night at 2–3am. Additionally, incorporating mindfulness practices such as meditation and gentle yoga played a key role in calming my nervous system and reducing cortisol spikes. Diet also made a noticeable difference. I focused on whole foods rich in antioxidants, like berries and leafy greens, and avoided excessive caffeine and sugar, which can worsen cortisol levels. Staying hydrated and including adaptogenic herbs like ashwagandha under guidance helped balance stress hormones naturally. On the fitness side, moderate exercise rather than intense workout sessions proved more effective in supporting my metabolism and energy. Overdoing it only added to stress.
