DITCH THEM IF THEY DO THESE THINGS

Trust me. I’ve been through my fair share of bad friendships…Enough to realize that’s it’s better to have a smaller group of REAL friends than to just be friends with anyone and everyone. Protect your peace girl!!

A real friend would NEVER make you feel less than. Here are three things a true friend would never do…only people who are insecure or jealous act this way.

1. Compete:

Real friends cheer you on! They don’t turn your successes into a competition. If someone’s always trying to one-up you or make everything about them, that’s not friendship—it’s insecurity. Your wins should be celebrated, not compared.

2. Guilt:

True friends will never guilt you for setting boundaries or doing what’s best for you. People who make you feel bad for taking care of yourself or saying no are coming from a place of jealousy or control. A good friend understands and supports your choices without making you feel guilty.

3. Sabotage:

A real friend would never sabotage your progress, or happiness. Whether it’s your fitness goals, relationships, or career, someone who tries to tear you down or distract you is driven by insecurity. Friends uplift, they don’t undermine.

At the end of the day, your friends should be your biggest fans—lifting you up, not tearing you down! You’ve got to stand your ground and learn how to turn away from negative people like that so you can continue growing stronger and happier in life;).

... Read moreMaintaining healthy friendships is essential for personal growth and happiness. Often, we overlook red flags in our relationships, leading to emotional distress and confusion. Toxic behaviors, such as competition among friends, can stem from their insecurities. True friends always celebrate your achievements instead of turning them into competitions or comparisons. Moreover, if a friend attempts to guilt you for taking care of yourself or asserting your boundaries, it is a sign of toxicity. A supportive friend understands your need for personal space and respects your choices. They empower you rather than make you feel guilty for prioritizing your well-being. Lastly, sabotaging your progress in various aspects of life, be it personal goals or relationships, is a clear indication that someone in your circle may not have your best interests at heart. Healthy friendships lift you up, and it’s essential to surround yourself with individuals who encourage you to thrive. Recognizing these three toxic behaviors—compete, guilt, and sabotage—can help you curate a circle of supportive friends that nurture your personal growth.

I disagree about competition. it's healthy. it's when people lose sight of the friendship that it turns sour but competitive spirit is always good. you can both cheer each other on while also competing. good sportsmanship isn't something that gets taught much these days.
