Part 85 | a lack of motivation doesn’t mean you’re lazy
Let’s talk about the Psychology behind why we’re unproductive - do you agree ? 🙌🏻
From my own experiences and many conversations I've had with friends, I’ve realized that a lack of motivation often stems from deeper psychological factors rather than laziness. Many times, feeling unmotivated comes hand in hand with emotional fatigue—something I refer to as being 'tired at attention.' This means that even though you want to push forward, your brain signals that it’s overwhelmed or craving a break. It’s important to recognize that inconsistency in productivity is normal. Some days, you might feel proud and energized, while other days you simply don’t care or feel blue. Accepting this ebb and flow is a vital part of developing a growth mindset. Instead of beating yourself up for struggling or feeling unproductive, try to see these moments as signals to rest, recharge, or reassess your goals. Motivation can fluctuate because of many factors — stress, perfectionism, mental health, or simply lacking clear direction. I’ve found that breaking tasks into smaller steps and celebrating small wins helps combat the 'I don’t care' attitude and keeps me moving forward. Additionally, reminding yourself that being unproductive sometimes is okay can relieve pressure and reduce feelings of guilt. In summary, if you feel unmotivated lately, remember it’s not a sign of laziness but a natural part of the human experience. Embrace these moments with kindness towards yourself, keep going at your own pace, and watch how your motivation slowly returns.
