How I’m reducing screen time in 2026
I feel like everyone is trying to commit to reducing screen time, but unless you actually make a realistic game plan that meets you where you’re at….its probably not gonna happen 😅
Here’s some intentional swaps I’ve been making over the past couple weeks that have actually made a difference 👇🏼
- Writing down all my go-to recipes in this adorable recipe book from target. This way I don’t have to pull out my phone to search for a recipe and potentially get distracted.
- I make our dinner menu 2 weeks at a time and then mark out meals when we have them. I usually have that and our grocery list on my phone. It’s convenient, but I feel much more connected when I’m doing this on paper around my toddler. This magnetic pad from Amazon is perfect and the grocery list portion tears off which is nice!
- I’m a to do list girl. I always make one on my phone the night before because if it’s not on my list I will totally forget about it. This $5 list on Amazon is super cute. This way when I’m checking my list or checking things off I’m not distracted by anything else.
- I’ve been wanting a brick for a while but the $65 price tag is a little steep. Foqos is a completely free alternative. You connect it with any barcode, QR code or NFC tag to essentially create your brick. (I used the barcode on the back of an old target gift card lol) Unless I physically scan that barcode, social media is blocked. It really makes you intentional about when you want to unblock and use social media instead of it always being there.
