Snacking has always been and still is a problem of mine lol. I love a good snack and it’s convenient but it can’t ruin my progress. Staying in a calorie deficit is so important for fatloss, and if you’re not careful you’ll snack your way right out of the deficit.

That's why having truly satisfying, low-calorie options on hand is an absolute game-changer for hitting those weight loss goals. My absolute favorite quick and easy go-to is a simple, refreshing vegetable bowl that builds on the idea of chopped cucumbers and cherry tomatoes. It's incredibly versatile and keeps me feeling full without the guilt. For this particular snack, I love combining crisp seedless cucumbers with sweet H-E-B Angel Sweet Tomatoes – though any cherry tomato variety works wonderfully. The magic really happens with the seasoning! A sprinkle of H-E-B Lemon Pepper seasoning adds a zesty kick, and a light drizzle of Wish-Bone Red Wine Vinaigrette ties all the flavors together beautifully. It’s fresh, tangy, and surprisingly filling. What’s great is that you can chop these ingredients ahead of time and store them in a clear container for up to two days, making it the perfect grab-and-go option when hunger strikes. But let's not stop there! Sometimes you need variety to keep things interesting and stay motivated. If you're looking for other ways to switch up this snack, consider adding some sliced banana for a touch of sweetness or crunchy bell peppers for extra vitamins and a different texture. When I'm craving something with virtually '0 calories snacks', I often reach for pickles or celery sticks. While they won't provide much energy, they satisfy that need to crunch and chew without impacting your calorie count! For those days when I need something a bit more substantial but still want to keep it low-calorie, I turn to high protein snacks under 200 calories. A small container of plain Greek yogurt with a few berries or a hard-boiled egg can be incredibly satisfying and keep hunger at bay for hours. Cottage cheese is another fantastic option, sometimes I'll mix it with a few more cherry tomatoes or a tiny bit of red pepper flakes for a savory kick. Even a small handful of almonds can be a lifesaver, but portion control is key here! The key to successful snacking in a calorie deficit is preparation and mindful eating. Always have a variety of healthy, low-calorie options readily available, whether it's pre-chopped veggies like cucumbers and bell peppers, or measured portions of protein-rich snacks. Hydration is also huge – sometimes what feels like hunger is actually just thirst! So before you grab that snack, try having a glass of water. By making smart choices and being prepared, you can enjoy your snacks without derailing your progress and truly stay on track for your fat loss journey.
