How to manage college classes on vacation
As a college student taking online summer classes and traveling I’ve learned the hard way how to manage both! It can be so easy to forget that you have a little quiz or you fall behind on your reading. Or like me you forget to check canvas for 2 days and you missed an assignment. But I’ve learned my lesson! So here’s how I’m managing staying on top of school and traveling this summer:
1. Time management: this is super important! I usually have an hour a day I put aside for working or doing school work. It can be in the morning when I get up, or an hour before I go to bed depending on what I’m doing that day! Even on the train, plane, taxi, boat, etc.
2. Schedule: be organized and schedule your assignments and quizzes! Put it in a calendar or even notes list so you have somewhere to look!
3. Reminders: this was super helpful. I was very forgetful and forgot I was doing school! So once I realized the mistake I made I started setting reminders a day before the assignments were do mostly because the time difference and I didn’t want to risk it!

You can set alarms to notify you a day prior to submission deadlines, ensuring you never miss an assignment while enjoying your time away. Additionally, consider fellow students as a resource. Join online study groups or forums where you can share challenges and tips with peers in the same situation. Engaging with classmates not only helps reinforce your understanding of the material but also holds you accountable in completing your assignments.
