Many of us ask: 'Is Pilates okay for Christians?' or wonder about the relationship between 'Christians and Pilates.' I understand these questions. Some might worry if it aligns with our faith principles. From my personal experience, I've found Pilates to be a beautiful way to honor my body, which is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). It's not about self-worship, but rather stewardship—caring for the physical gift God has given us so we can better serve Him and others. The focus on controlled movements, breath, and mindfulness can even be a form of moving meditation, allowing me to quiet my mind and connect with God. My wholesome morning meaning now encompasses stretching, strengthening, and spiritual grounding. I usually start with a quiet moment for Bible study and prayer, setting my intentions for the day. Then, I transition into my Pilates session. Whether it's a quick 20-minute flow or a more extensive full-body workout, I try to remain present and grateful for my body's capabilities. I focus on how each movement builds strength and flexibility, enabling me to handle daily tasks with more energy and less strain. It's about feeling strong and capable, not just for aesthetics, but for a purposeful life. For anyone looking to embrace a similar 'holy girl Pilates morning routine,' I'd highly recommend starting small. You don't need fancy equipment or a perfect routine from day one. Begin with gentle Pilates movements you can do at home, perhaps following an online video. What’s most important is consistency and integrating your faith into the practice.
