Raise your hand to dissolve Congress, not to do a money distribution program.
Sirikanya collapsed Thailand's proud government policy, pointing out that four months should focus on amending the Constitution and dissolving the Parliament, not speeding up half the distribution.
On September 29, 2025, Ms. Sirikanya, Tan Genu, a roster MP and the deputy leader of the People's Party, held an intensive debate in the House of Commons, criticizing the new government's policy statement as "still in the same form, not different from the previous two governments, or even the government of Gen. Prayut Chan-ocha, with broad words, lacking the clarity of the goal to be reached, without any indicators."
Despite the government's clear four-month time frame, there is no clear prioritization or means of operation, especially the economic aspects. "What is put in there, but there is a lack of how to complete it in four months."
Ms. Sirikanya noted that the party is proud of Thailand as the government "is not a political party with a political agenda, so the political policies that other parties have have have not been intensely prepared to drive it," although there are ministers from the business sector, "it may not be too early to think, but it has not crystallized how to solve the problem."
It also criticized the "half plus" project as spending up to $66,400 million in the first phase, but it was not detailed by the Deputy Prime Minister or the Treasury Department, "but the deputy leader of the proud party, who may be a spokesman for the future government, is not sure," and asked, "Is this a political project or an economic project?"
Ms. Sirikanya revealed that the government accelerated the policy statement before September 30 to catch up with the special meeting and approve the central budget. "Tomorrow, he said that we should finish the debate at 6: 00 p.m., because there will be a special meeting. It is very hasty. The Comptroller must open the button system in the middle of the night to transfer money into the state welfare system so that the money can be spent in time for what?"
The stimulus budget that the previous government did not approve was used immediately after the change of government, and asked, "OK, should we really use this budget until the last drop?"
For half-plus statements in 2026 that include 44,000 million baht in tax filers and non-filers, which is one-third of the remaining stimulus budget, which the government also plans for phase 2 and various expenditure programmes, the congressman asked, "Will the government leave no reserves for the next government?"
While not opposing half the project, Sirikanya proposed to adjust the conditions to stimulate the real economy, such as "setting a minimum cost of 200 baht or more. The right may have to run out day by day as an incentive to use it faster."
"If you ask if you can reduce the cost of living, you can reduce it. But in the state welfare card, you just distributed tens of thousands of money last year. Will you give it away again? If you ask if you can help you, half of the projects can help, but you can give away the welfare money, not help anyone, because you have to go shopping in the blue flag store, but if you ask if the two projects can buy the voice in advance, you can do it, both do not understand why you have to approve the welfare card again, because you do not stimulate the economy, and the SMS does not help."
In the area of fiscal status, Sirikanya expressed concern by stating that "the state revenue has hit $34 billion," and that by 2026 the public debt will reach 69%, allowing for only $2.1 billion in additional loans, and asked, "I do not know who will be chairman of the State Treasury Policy Committee to expand the public debt ceiling."
She warned that if this government accelerates its budget to the popular vote without serious fiscal reform, it will burden the next government, leaving it with the end: "These four months can't solve the economic problem, no one says, but don't do damage that we can't go back and fix and can't restore confidence in the future."
