🌸 Wellness After Fibroids 🌸Healing & Self-Love

Going through my myomectomy was one of the hardest yet most eye-opening chapters of my wellness journey. Living with fibroids (and other hormonal challenges) taught me that healing isn’t just physical, it’s about mind, body, and soul alignment.

Here are some of the wellness practices that helped me re-love my body and create balance after surgery⬇️

🌸 1. Gentle Movement

I eased back in with stretching, walking, and low-impact workouts. Movement doesn’t have to be about “burning calories”, it can be about reconnecting and showing gratitude to your body.

🥗 2. Food as Medicine

I focused on anti-inflammatory, hormone-friendly foods like Leafy greens 🥬

Cruciferous veggies (broccoli, cauliflower) 🥦

Fresh juices with beets, carrots, and citrus 🥕🍊

Healthy fats like avocado + olive oil 🥑

Nourishing my body made me feel stronger from the inside out.

🍵 3. Herbal Support

Raspberry leaf tea, ginger, and turmeric became staples in my healing routine. Herbs remind us that nature provides so many tools for balancing our bodies.

🧘🏽‍♀️ 4. Stress Reset

Fibroids + hormonal issues are deeply connected to stress. I started daily breathwork, journaling, and mindfulness to give my body space to exhale.

💆🏽‍♀️ 5. Self-Care Rituals

From lymphatic massage tools to yoni steaming and magnesium baths 🛀 these practices gave me time to slow down and honor my healing journey.

🌞 6. Lifestyle Shifts

I began protecting my sleep, being mindful with products I use, and paying attention to my cycle rather than working against it. Syncing my lifestyle with my hormones has been a game-changer.

✨ Final Note

If you’re battling fibroids, PCOS, endometriosis, or any hormonal illness, please know you are not alone. Healing is not linear, but every small step is a victory. Your body is worthy of love in every phase. 🌹

Save this post to come back to whenever you need a little reminder that wellness is a journey, not a destination. 🌿

... Read moreMy journey after myomectomy was just as much about mental healing as it was physical. One of the biggest challenges I faced was learning to re-love my body after what felt like such a significant trauma. Before surgery, dealing with what felt like a constant "fibroid belly" was incredibly disheartening. I'd stand in front of the mirror, picking apart the "flaws," feeling disconnected from my own form. It took time, but I gradually realized that healing is strength too. I started celebrating the fact that my body had carried me through surgery and recovery, a testament to its incredible resilience. Embracing gentle movement, as mentioned in the main article, became a cornerstone of this transformation. It wasn't about intense workouts, but about reconnecting. I found solace in simple stretches like Child's Pose and Cat-Cow Stretch, which helped me gently wake up my core and release tension. These moments of quiet movement were profound, helping me to appreciate my body's capabilities rather than focusing on its imperfections. Learning to love my body also meant enjoying life again, feeling free, wearing the outfits I loved, and even taking trips without constant worry. Beyond the physical appearance, the concept of a "fibroids detox" also became crucial for my overall well-being. This wasn't about a harsh cleanse, but a mindful approach to nourishing my system from the inside out. I focused heavily on anti-inflammatory foods, building on the "food as medicine" principle. For me, this looked like incorporating more fermented foods like Homemade Lonean kimchi, which I learned about through my "HEALTHY GIRL FOOD GUIDE" research. Boosting my gut health felt like a gentle internal reset, helping to reduce bloating and support my hormones. I also dove deeper into herbal support. My daily routine included various herbal teas and body oils, which truly felt like "holistic healing became my best friend." These weren't just remedies; they were small, intentional acts of self-care. Little rituals like juicing and making fresh juices became a way to show love to myself from the inside out, providing essential nutrients and making me feel vibrant. This holistic approach helped mitigate some of the discomforts I'd associated with fibroids, creating a sense of lightness and internal balance. It's easy to focus on symptoms, and for a long time, concerns about my body's functions, especially digestion and pelvic pressure, were a constant source of anxiety. By focusing on this gentle, internal "detox" and stress reduction, I found that my body began to regulate itself more effectively. The anxiety around certain bodily functions lessened as my overall health improved. It's truly amazing how a holistic approach – combining nutrition, gentle exercise, stress management, and self-care – can lead to such profound improvements, not just in how your body looks, but in how it feels and functions every single day. This journey has shown me that true wellness is about nurturing every part of yourself.
