Another day of me thinking about the things I left

4/1 Edited to

... Read moreThrift shopping is such a unique experience because each trip brings a mix of excitement and tough decisions. I’ve often stood in secondhand stores, holding an item that speaks to me, only to hesitate and put it back—sometimes walking away with a bit of regret. Like the author, I've learned that the things we leave behind often hold a story or vibe that we connect with, whether it's a unique mirror or a perfectly nostalgic cookbook. One time, I found a sparkling vintage vase that caught my eye. Despite the temptation, I chose not to buy it because I didn’t have the right space at home. For days afterward, I kept picturing how it would look displayed, reminding me that slow living means appreciating not just acquiring but also making space and being mindful. Testing thrifted items, such as those little sparkle tulips mentioned, for safety (like lead content) is a smart move that I've adopted, especially when bringing home decor or kitchen accessories. It adds a layer of confidence to my finds and helps me cherish them without worry. Ultimately, thrift shopping is about more than just finding deals—it's about connecting with stories, embracing sustainability, and sometimes practicing restraint. Every item left behind is a small lesson in mindfulness and appreciation for the treasures that will eventually find their perfect home. Slow mornings with a romantic soundtrack or the joy of discovering a unique cookbook perfectly illustrate the cozy, intentional lifestyle so many of us are embracing.

Struggles with Prayer and Overthinking.
I have a tendency to overthink things. I could simply say “Hi” instead of “Hello” and think about it for a week. I fail to be present because my mind is in the past. I also have a tendency to overthink my prayers. That they aren’t good enough. That God won’t hear me. I think about praying in fron

Unhinged ways to stop overthinking
