Why do we act like saying it early a red flag?
Last month, I told my new partner I love you after 6 weeks, and my friend freaked out: “That’s way too soon! Total red flag!” But it doesn’t have to mean I’ll die for you or we’ll be together forever.
Relationships end even after 20 years, people change every day/every month. Time doesn’t guarantee anything. For me, when that feeling hits, it burns in my chest, and holding it back because it’s early just feels sad.
Yeah, maybe it’s not the deepest love a person can have, I might not even know how big that love gets yet. But it’s still love. I care about them, I miss them when we’re apart, and that’s real.
Why do we act like saying it early is always a warning sign? Have you ever said “I love you” sooner than “normal” and had it feel right?

I think saying I love you should be said when the timing feels right. I met my husband on Tinder in May of 2020. By October, I knew I was madly in love. So I said it. He was also in love. He moved in with me. We ended up getting engaged at six months. We got married in 2023. We’re still in love and happy, we just had a baby girl in August. I feel like if you love someone, there’s no time on saying it to them. You say it when you feel it’s right.
