Mornings 7 months pregnant and a Boss

🌅Morning Routine: Cleaning and clarity check emails and calendars for meetings.
Wow, it feels like just yesterday I was sharing my first trimester struggles, and now I'm already 7 months pregnant! Every morning brings new challenges and joys, but one thing remains constant: my dedication to being a boss, both at work and in managing my pregnancy journey. That early morning routine of cleaning and getting my head straight for emails and meetings really sets the tone for the day. Lately, the 'cleaning' part has taken on a whole new meaning. It's not just about tidying up; it’s about creating a calm, organized space that helps me feel in control before the workday even begins. Small things, like making the bed or wiping down the kitchen counter, give me a sense of accomplishment right away. And let's be real, with a growing bump, bending and reaching aren't as easy as they used to be! So, I've learned to be strategic about what gets done and when. Sometimes, it's just a quick five-minute tidy-up to prevent chaos from building. Then comes the "clarity check" for emails and calendars. This is crucial for me. Being pregnant, my energy levels can fluctuate wildly, and sometimes, 'pregnancy brain' is a real thing! So, before I dive into anything, I take a good 15-20 minutes to review my inbox and schedule. I prioritize urgent tasks, delegate what I can, and block out time for important meetings. I've also started scheduling in short breaks throughout the day – even just 10 minutes to stretch or grab a glass of water – to keep my focus sharp. It’s a game-changer! One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned as a pregnant boss is the importance of listening to my body. There are days when I feel like a superhero, and others when just getting out of bed feels like a marathon. On those tougher days, I’ve found that being transparent with my team (within reason, of course) and leaning on their support can make all the difference. Delegation isn't a weakness; it's smart leadership, especially when you're growing a human! I've also discovered some little hacks that boost my productivity and comfort. A good, supportive chair, a footrest, and keeping a water bottle constantly refilled are non-negotiables. And snacks! Healthy snacks are my lifesavers. I keep a stash of nuts, fruit, and crackers nearby to ward off any sudden hunger pangs or nausea. For any other pregnant bosses out there, my biggest advice is to be kind to yourself. You’re doing an incredible job balancing so much. Don't be afraid to adjust your routine, ask for help, or even take a power nap if you need it. This journey is unique, and finding what works for you is key to thriving, not just surviving. It's a challenging but incredibly rewarding experience, proving that women can truly do it all – even with a baby on board!
