Caramel sauce

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup water

1/2 cup warm milk

1 TBS butter.

1. Bring sugar and water to a boil.

2. Let it boil, undisturbed, until it gets to a golden brown.

3. Remove from heat and SLOWLY add in the warm milk. Make sure to do this slow so that the rabid temperature change doesn’t break the caramel. If you accidentally do, it’s ok. It still tastes amazing, it just not as smooth.

4. Add the butter. This is where I add salt. You don’t have to. But I like to.

5. After butter is melted, return to heat and bring to a boil. This boil is to thicken the sauce, and depend the flavor. Leave it on the heat longer if you want it more of a caramel chew texture, leave it on just long enough to deepen the color /flavor if you want it to be more of a icecream sauce.

6. Clean and sterilize your jar, and pour the caramel into the container. It’s easier if you do it while the caramel is still hot, but make sure your container is hot as well so it doesn’t bust.
