Bryce Quinlan’s character feels incredibly real, especially as she navigates her grief and determination to uncover the truth behind a murder that shakes her world. One aspect that really stood out was the slow-building relationship between Bryce and Hunt Athalar, the fallen angel. Their connection is layered with shared pain and tentative trust, which adds emotional depth beyond typical fantasy romance. The story is neither rushed nor predictable — it takes time to build tension and reveal the complex layers of plot and character development. The novel’s world-building, while dense, is rewarding and paints a vivid picture of a modern city teeming with supernatural elements and corrupt power structures.
