The first meal starts slowly.
Eating in the window at 10: 00 am to 4: 00 pm (accounting for the Intermittent Fasting or IF 18 / 6, fasting for 18 hours and eating within 6 hours) is a very good strategy for the goal of losing weight, reducing sugar and reducing fat.
Slowing down the first meal and ending the dinner faster has many deep physical advantages:
1. Accelerate the process of fat burn
When we fast longer (from 16: 00 to 10: 00 the next day, for a total of 18 hours), the body uses up the energy of blood sugar and glycogen in the liver. After about 12 hours, the body switches to bring the accumulated fat to the body to burn the main energy instead. Eating ends early at 4: 00 p.m., so it will prolong the body to burn the old fat longer.
2. Control blood glucose and reduce insulin resistance
Fast fasting period: Insulin hormone levels continue to drop, which is a condition that contributes to fat breakdown and allows cells to resume insulin response (reducing insulin resistance). The pancreas rests from insulin secretion, resulting in calmer and stable blood glucose.
Feed: Starting your first meal at 10: 00, which is when the metabolism is fully operational, will help the body handle sugar and nutrients from the meal more effectively than eating late.
3. Consistent with the Circadian Rhythm
The human body is designed to best manage nutrients and insulin sensitivity during sunshine (daylight), and this efficiency gradually decreases as the sun sets.
Eating the last meal, finishing at 16: 00, is the body's natural mechanical eating, avoiding eating late meals where the digestive and metabolic systems begin to run slower, which often results in energy being left to accumulate into fat.
4. Stimulate cell repair (Autophagy)
An 18-hour fast begins to trigger a process called Autophagy, or self-ingestion of cells, in which cells recycle and remove waste, remove degraded cells, and reduce inflammation in the body, which is good for overall health and aging.
5. Reduce the hunger hormone and control the difficulty more easily.
At first you may feel hungry at dusk, but once the body has adapted, clear food spacing will help balance leptin and ghrelin hormone, preventing us from feeling craved for dessert or fussy at night, and implicitly reducing total daily calories.
