❌ 3/10 ~ This is the Peach & Lily Matcha Pudding Antioxidant Cream. I finished a mini. I am so sad that I didn’t like this! I love Peach & Lily, but I hated this moisturizer. I didn’t like the way it smelled at all. Not that it was fragranced, it just smelled weird. It also did not blend into my skin at all. If you have any kind of skincare underneath it will combine with it and mix together and won’t blend in. It worked terrible underneath makeup. But it was hydrating. It felt very heavy and greasy on my skin. I did not like this at all. #empties#decemberempties#productreview#moisturizer#matcha

... Read moreI've been seeing so much hype around the Peach & Lily Matcha Pudding Antioxidant Cream, and honestly, I had such high hopes for it. The idea of a 'Matcha Pudding Antioxidant Cream' with ingredients designed to 'Moisturize + Protect' sounded like a dream, especially for someone looking to boost their skin's defenses against environmental stressors. When I finally got my hands on a mini jar, I was excited to dive in, hoping for that silky, nourishing feel that so many raved about.
However, my experience with this moisturizer took a turn I didn't expect. Like many, I look for a cream that melts effortlessly into my skin. Unfortunately, this Matcha Pudding Antioxidant Cream felt incredibly heavy on my skin, almost like it was sitting on top rather than truly sinking in. I tried applying it in different ways – a tiny dab, a more generous amount – but the result was often the same: a noticeable greasy film that lingered. It was quite a surprise, especially since the name suggests something light and airy, almost like a dessert pudding for your face.
One of the biggest frustrations was how it interacted with other skincare products and, crucially, with makeup. It just didn't want to blend properly. It would pill or mix awkwardly with my serums and essences, creating a messy, uneven layer that made applying foundation an absolute nightmare. My makeup would slide, separate, and just generally look unpolished, which is the last thing you want from a daily moisturizer. I even tried letting it sit for a significant amount of time before makeup application, but it didn't seem to help much. It really made me question if it was truly designed for everyday wear under a full routine or perhaps better suited for a minimalist approach.
And then there was the scent. While not explicitly fragranced, it had a very distinct, almost 'off' smell that I found quite unpleasant. Skincare scents are so personal, but this one was just not for me and unfortunately, it lingered longer than I would have liked. It’s a shame because often, natural ingredients like matcha can have a pleasant, earthy aroma, but this was different and definitely contributed to my overall dislike for the product.
Despite my personal issues, I have to acknowledge that it was hydrating. For someone with extremely dry skin living in a very arid climate, or perhaps someone who only uses a moisturizer as a single step and no other layers or makeup, this cream might offer sufficient moisture. If applied on its own, perhaps before bed, without the expectation of seamless blending or makeup compatibility, it could potentially deliver on its 'Moisturize + Protect' promise for specific skin types. However, for my combination skin and desire for a smooth, non-greasy canvas for makeup, it just didn't fit into my routine at all.
Ultimately, while the Peach & Lily brand has many products I adore and highly recommend, this particular Matcha Pudding Antioxidant Cream was a significant miss for me. It’s a good reminder that even beloved brands can have products that aren't a universal fit for everyone's skin type or preferences. If you're considering trying it, especially if you have similar skin concerns or wear makeup regularly, I'd strongly suggest trying to get a mini size first to see how your skin reacts. There are so many amazing antioxidant creams out there that truly 'Moisturize + Protect' without the heavy feel or blending issues.
