Long stay
Working your dog to be a better dog is a must#canecorsolovers
Training a dog to hold a long stay command can be challenging but extremely rewarding, especially for powerful and intelligent breeds like the Cane Corso. From my experience, consistency and patience are key. Starting with short durations and gradually increasing the time helps your dog build focus without feeling overwhelmed. Use positive reinforcement such as treats, praise, or playtime to motivate your dog. Also, varying the training environment ensures your dog learns to stay calm and obedient despite distractions. Remember to keep training sessions short and fun to maintain your dog’s enthusiasm. It's also important to teach your dog to stay not only when you are visible but also when you leave the room, gradually increasing physical distance. This builds trust and impulse control. Incorporating commands like 'wait' and 'release' helps clarify expectations. Finally, socializing your Cane Corso and providing regular mental and physical exercise complements obedience training, resulting in a more balanced and obedient dog. Long stay training is foundational for safety and good manners, making all the effort worthwhile for both you and your canine companion.
