Good to get regular blood tests for your cats

We may have gotten lucky with Maggie detecting a gallbladder infection early. After 2 weeks of 2 antibiotics is completed another round of blood test to check. Only took one day to switch her from liquid meds to pills. If you ever have to give a liquid med and your cat excessively salivates or appears to bring up excessive mucus, it can be due to the bitter taste of the medication. Not a fun thing to witness for the first time. She is doing good today, although she doesn't like the pills, my bet is she likes it better than the liquid antibiotics. Maggie is a hard one to medicate she knows when it's in her food or a pill pocket, so back to the old school way. #cats #milonovamaggie #milonashmaggie

From my journey with Maggie, I've learned the invaluable role of consistent blood tests in managing cat health. These tests not only help detect infections like gallbladder issues early but also guide treatment choices—like switching from liquid meds to pills when side effects appear. Cats are notorious for detecting medication tricks, so sometimes old-fashioned administering methods work best. Watching Maggie salivate uncontrollably with liquid meds was tough, but pills seemed easier for her despite her resistance. Regular blood testing is a practice I'd highly recommend to any cat owner. It can catch hidden problems before symptoms escalate, potentially saving on costly treatments later. Plus, understanding your cat's response to meds ensures their comfort and quicker recovery. In short, diligent health monitoring with blood tests provides peace of mind and helps us offer better care to our feline companions.
