One of the hardest parts of going through a breakup isn’t always the breakup itself.
Sometimes it’s all the voices around you telling you what your future is going to look like.
“You’re never going to hear from them again.”
“They’ve moved on.”
“It’s over.”
And while I understand that most people mean well, the truth is that nobody actually knows that.
A lot of times people say those things because they hate seeing you hurt. They want to make you feel better. They want to help you move on. Sometimes they’re even tired of hearing about the situation because they don’t understand why you’re still holding onto it.
But their desire to protect you doesn’t make them right.
The reality is that relationships are complicated. People change their minds. People reconnect. People have regrets. People miss each other. People reach out after months of silence. And yes, sometimes people never come back.
The point is that nobody knows which category your story falls into.
Not your friends.
Not your family.
Not strangers on the internet.
So if your heart is struggling because everyone around you seems so certain about an outcome that hasn’t even happened yet, stop borrowing certainty from people who don’t have any.
You don’t need to spend your days waiting.
You don’t need to put your life on hold.
You don’t need to stop living.
But you also don’t have to force yourself to believe something that you don’t know is true.
Sometimes the healthiest thing you can do is accept that you don’t know what the future holds.
And neither does anyone else. 🤎 #relationship #breakup #relationshipcoach
