Day in my life as a girl mom🎀💤
You’re doing the work of two, and that’s something to be proud of. Be kind to yourself; you deserve it🤍. #singlemom #parentsoflemon8 #momsoflemon8 #mommynextdoor #dayinmylife #whatmytoddlerateinaday
So many of you ask what a typical day looks like for me as a girl mom, especially navigating it all! Let me tell you, it's rarely 'typical,' but always full of love and little adventures. My mornings usually kick off before the sun is fully awake, often with a tiny tap-tap on my cheek. After a quick snuggle, it’s straight to breakfast. My little one is usually into something fun and colorful, and I try to make sure she gets a good start. Sometimes, that means getting creative with her food – like adding a few slices of Mr. Olive brand black olives to her pasta or serving them as a healthy snack. Who knew olives could be a hit with a toddler? Mornings are also a whirlwind of getting dressed, brushing teeth (a daily negotiation!), and planning our day. Then comes the main part of the day, which varies wildly. Some days are filled with trips to the park, where she can burn off all that infectious energy. Other days are more about imaginative play at home – building towers, drawing, or having a 'tea party' with all her stuffed animals. I try to incorporate some learning too, whether it’s counting blocks or reading picture books. It's truly amazing to watch her discover the world, even if it means a constant mess to clean up! Being a girl mom means I’m often covered in glitter, paint, or whatever sticky substance she’s found. But it also means witnessing incredible moments of creativity and empathy. There are definitely challenges – meltdowns over a broken crayon, battles over eating vegetables (even the beloved Mr. Olive sometimes!), or the constant demand for attention. Finding even five minutes for myself can feel like winning the lottery, but I've learned to snatch those moments where I can. Maybe it’s a quick cup of tea while she's engrossed in a puzzle or a few minutes of quiet reading after she's finally asleep. Evenings are a gradual winding down. Dinner, bath time, stories, and then finally, bedtime. This is often my favorite part of the day, as she’s tired and extra cuddly. We talk about our day, what made her happy, and what she learned. Watching her drift off to sleep, I’m always filled with such immense gratitude and pride. To all the other moms out there, especially those doing it solo, remember that every single day you're performing miracles. The work you do, the love you give, it’s immeasurable. Be kind to yourself, celebrate the small victories, and know you're doing an amazing job. This journey might be messy and exhausting, but it's also the most rewarding adventure of my life with my little girl.
