What’s Ruining Your Skin Health - Do This Instead 🤭

As a combo and acne-prone skin girly, my skin used to be super oily but also looked dehydrated 😭 To make it worse, it was also covered with texture and painful blemishes. Here is what I have learned to save my skin!

Be careful with exfoliants and active ingredients, and INSTEAD prioritize calming/nourishing ingredients!

• For this, I love using toners and toner pads, which double as a sheet face mask!

Skipping moisturizer as an oily skin girl is an absolute NO, it comes down to choosing the right one for your skin type!

• I love a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer to keep my skin hydrated and glowy ✨

Whatever you do, NEVER skip sunscreen!

• This is the most important step for protecting the skin, having an even glow, and keeping the skin smooth!

... Read moreFrom my experience dealing with combination and acne-prone skin, the journey to healthier skin isn’t about harsh treatments but rather about gentle care and consistency. One big mistake I've noticed many make is over-exfoliating. Constant use of exfoliants and active ingredients can strip the skin’s natural barrier, leading to increased irritation and more breakouts. Instead, focusing on calming ingredients like those found in toner pads with Houttuynia Cordata or Centella Asiatica extracts can soothe inflammation and reduce redness. I found that incorporating a toner pad that doubles as a sheet mask brings an extra layer of hydration and calmness which really helped smooth the texture of my skin. Also, choosing the right moisturizer is crucial—even if your skin is oily. I switched to an oil-free, lightweight moisturizer containing snail mucin, which provides weightless hydration without clogging pores. It leaves the skin glowing and balanced rather than greasy or dry. Above all, sunscreen is non-negotiable. Even on cloudy days, using a gentle sunscreen like the Centella Water-Fit Sun Serum with pure Centella extract protects my skin from damage and helps maintain an even tone. This step preserved my skin’s smoothness and prevented the hyperpigmentation that often follows acne healing. If you struggle with acne-prone or combination skin like I do, remember to be patient and choose products that nourish without overloading. Avoid aggressively stripping your skin and instead nourish it with calming, hydrating ingredients. You’ll see improved texture, reduced breakouts, and a healthy glow over time.
