✨Most Poignant Read so Far this Year 📚

‼️ This is a new 2025 release!

💫 I really enjoy my BoTM reads but this one was DEEP. I picked it for BHM. I am so glad I did, and I can’t wait to read her other novels.

😳 So - this book!! I was not expecting the series of events that unfolded! The summary does little justice for the emotional ride I went through.

🧐 I was continuously curious, and the writing style was great for visual imagery! I could see all this novel played out in my mind like a movie.

✍️ It’s poignant, touching, informative, and gives a glimpse into a life (even if fictional) some of us have no idea about. It reminds us to stay helpful, thoughtful, and also to let go of what we can’t control.

👍Pros : Deep Read, Highbrow, Vocabulary, Multiple Points of View

🤔Cons: Trigger Warning ⚠️ (SV, War, Confinement, Mental Instability)

⭐️Overall rating: 9.8/10

His overprotective instincts towards his daughter Amara plunge the family into chaos, leading to a gripping exploration of mental instability and familial bonds. The novel intricately portrays the immigrant experience, highlighting cultural conflicts and emotional traumas that resonate with readers worldwide. Iromuanya's exceptional writing style presents vivid imagery, ensuring that each scene is felt as if one is living through the characters’ realities. Themes of love, loss, and resilience are beautifully interwoven, making it an essential read for those looking to engage with poignant literature that reflects on societal issues. 'A Season of Light' is more than a story; it’s a reflection on humanity, urging readers to empathize with experiences beyond their understandings. Whether you're searching for profound narratives or simply curious about voices in contemporary literature, this book is sure to leave a lasting mark.
